Celebrating its 4th year, the NPC Carla Sanchez Fitness Fiesta is the only NPC show of its kind. Without the bodybuilding component, co-promoters IFBB pro Carla Sanchez and NPC Rocky Mountain chairman Jeff Taylor, have created a fitness and figure event that can stand alone, draw a crowd, and generate revenue and sponsorship dollars. The contest featured Women’s and Men’s Fitness, Collegiate Figure, three age divisions for Master’s Figure, three height classes in Novice and four in Open Figure, Junior Fitness, and a fitness model search sponsored by Bodysport.com. Congratulations to PR Girls Sarah Gilbert and Amanda Berthod who graduated from Metropolitan State College of Denver, on December 17, 2006.

• Sarah graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Performance and Sport with a concentration in Adult Fitness and Exercise Science and a Minor in Nutrition. Sarah is a Certified Health/Fitness Instructor through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM/HFI), a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and an ACE Certified Personal Trainer.

• Amanda graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Performance and Sport with a concentration in Adult Fitness and Exercise Science and a Minor in Nutrition. Sarah and Amanda are dedicated to sharing their knowledge of exercise and nutrition and are eager to help their clients reach their health and fitness goals.

FALL COMPETITION WRAPUP
Congratulations to Judy Warren who placed 7th in class B at the CO Natural on November 4. She is also the featured PR Hot Mama this month!

PR TEAM MEMBERS WIN THE GO THE EXTRA MILE CARDIO CHALLENGE
The PR Team has FUN getting fit and likes the challenge of working hard towards their fitness goals! Recently, PR Team members participated in a GO THE EXTRA MILE Cardio Challenge. Participants recorded their daily mileage for 4 weeks and were able to gain extra points by attending Carla’s Run the Rocks class and Cardio Camps, wearing a weighted vest and PR workout wear. Congratulations to the following PR Girls who went the extra mile, got in great shape and won super prizes!

• 1st place: Amanda Berthod – 298.43 miles, won $200 gift certificate to Cherry Creek Mall, $25 gift certificate to Whole Foods Market and Short Spa gift certificate to IZBA Spa.

CHRISTINE SCORES AT THE FIGURE OLYMPIA!
Congratulations to PR Figure Olympian, Christine Pomponio-Pate! Christine finished her competitive pro season by placing 4th in the prestigious IFBB Figure Olympia. She presented a flawless package of muscle, femininity, beauty and charisma! Christine has also been named the PR Team Competitor of the Year.

NORTH AMERICAN FIGURE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Congratulations to Anna Laratta! Anna competed in the North American Figure Championships on September 15th and 16th in Cleveland, Ohio, placing 5th in the Master’s Division Class B and 10th in the Open Division Class B. Look for Anna on the national stage in 2007 as she continues to pursue her fitness dream of earning her IFBB pro card. Be sure to attend the Carla Sanchez Fitness Fiesta on October 21 to watch the ‘Little Larattas’ compete in the Jr. Fitness competition!

CHRISTINE IS THE IRON MAN COVER GIRL!

KATIE HITS THE BOOKS AS HARD AS THE WEIGHTS
Congratulations to PR Figure competitor, Katie Pomranka who recently graduated from Metro Denver Dental Assisting program with a certification as a dental assistant and a certification in dental radiology. When Katie’s not busy hitting the books, she’s hitting the weights with mom and fellow PR teammate, Brenda Pomranka, who just competed in her first figure competion at The Carla Sanchez Fitness Fiesta. This dynamic mom/daughter duo to shared the Figure stage in April at the 2007 Northern Colorado Fitness & Figure Championships!

PR GIRL MINDI SEAMAN RACES TO SUCCESS
This summer PR Figure competitor Mindi Seaman traded in her glass slippers and jeweled swimsuit for a pair of clipless shoes and a jersey to tackle the roads and trails of Colorado. Mindi is a competitive cyclist on the Boulder Performance Network/Wily Cycles Team from Boulder, Colorado. Mindi was in excellent condition going into racing season after coming off a second place finish at the Northern Colorado Fitness & Figure Championships in April. Mindi’s cycling success this summer includes: 2nd place, Mountain Circuit #1 Cross-Country race; 5th place, Winter Park Hill Climb; 3rd place, Crested Butte. Look for her back on the figure stage at the Rocky Mountain Fitness & Figure Championships in December.

Congratulations to Liza and Jenny who competed in the Colorado State Championships on July 8. Liza placed 2nd in both the Figure Novice and Open Class A. This was Liza’s first competiton! Denver hosted the first IFBB Pro Figure and Bodybuilding Championships, May 12-13, officially titled, The Colorado Pro Am and sponsored by VyoTech.
